Application of Electric Heaters in the Plastics Industry




Electric heaters are heating elements produced using modern technology, suitable for various plastics, chemical, chemical fiber machinery, food packaging, wire, cable machinery; hot air ducts, oil pipelines, and other supporting heating electrical appliances and heating accessories.



Metal electric heater series are divided into three categories based on the base and insulating medium.



A. Metal mica heater: It uses high-dielectric nickel-chromium 2080 alloy heating wire as the heating element. It is wound using natural mica or artificial mica board as the insulator. The outer layer uses different metal plates as the heat-conducting element according to the user, and is machined into heating rings, plates, and other shapes of heaters. The normal surface load power should be 2.5~3 W/cm². Customers should use an automatic temperature control system according to the required heating temperature to ensure the service life of the heater.



B. Metal cast electric heater: It uses metal tubular electric heating elements as the heating element. According to the specifications and shape requirements of the user's heating body, it is bent into shape and then cast into various shapes of cast aluminum, cast copper, and cast iron heating bodies. This product is currently an ideal heating product in the plastics industry. It has the advantages of fast heating, uniform heating, good thermal conductivity, and long service life. According to user needs, the normal surface load of cast heaters is 2.5~3.5 W/cm². The normal surface load of cast copper and cast iron heaters is 4.0~6.0 W/cm². Special specifications can be processed according to user drawings.



C. Tubular electric heating element (metal tubular heater): The metal tubular heater uses a metal shell (titanium steel, stainless steel, carbon steel, copper, and other metal tubes), with a nickel-chromium alloy heating wire spirally arranged along the center of the tube. According to the voltage, power, and resistance set for the heater, the gaps inside the tube are uniformly filled with high-purity battery-grade magnesium oxide tube and magnesium powder with good insulation and thermal conductivity. It is used in tube shrinking furnaces, hot spot furnaces, drying equipment, hot pressing forming, food machinery, barbecue, household appliances, and other series of electric heating machinery. The normal surface load is 4.0~8.0 W/cm².
