7 Key Points to Extend the Service Life of Thermal Oil Heaters:
1. When shutting down, generally stop the hot oil pump only after the thermal oil temperature drops below 70°C.
2. In case of sudden power outage, immediately extinguish the fire and then operate according to the operating procedures; otherwise, the furnace tubes may be burned out, causing huge losses.
3. Choose the thermal oil reasonably according to the type of boiler. Avoid using it above the rated temperature, never buy substandard oil to save money, and do not mix thermal oils arbitrarily, otherwise the consequences will be serious.
4. After six months of boiler use, the thermal oil must be sampled and tested according to the instructions. If problems are found, replace it with new thermal oil immediately. However, note that different types of thermal oil must not be mixed.
5. Prevent oxidation of the thermal oil. Strictly avoid contact with air when the thermal oil temperature is above 50°C; this will cause the thermal oil to crack at an alarmingly fast rate, with very serious consequences. Commissioning personnel must close the vent valve on the auxiliary exhaust pipe after normal operation, remember.
6. Strictly control the circulation flow rate of the thermal oil to not less than 1.5 m/s. During use, if the temperature difference between the inlet and outlet is too large, the original design requirements are destroyed, the thermal oil cannot maintain its original circulation state, the boundary layer thickens, the thermal resistance increases, causing the furnace wall to exceed the oil film temperature, leading to carbon deposition, cracking, polymerization, coking, or even burning through the furnace tubes.
7. Strictly avoid arbitrary over-temperature operation, increasing air volume, adding more fuel, causing the thermal oil to be frequently in an over-temperature state. This will lead to cracking and coking of the thermal oil, and over time, major accidents may occur.
