II. Selection Principles for Single-End Heating Tube Materials
Temperature and corrosion resistance: For low-temperature tubes, BUNDY, aluminum, or copper tubes are generally used; for high-temperature tubes, stainless steel or Incoloy tubes are used. Incoloy 800 heating tubes can be used in poor water quality conditions, while Incoloy 840 heating tubes have good oxidation resistance at high working temperatures and good corrosion resistance.
III. Intuitive Method to Verify the Quality of Heating Tubes
First, wipe the surface of the heating tube clean, then connect to a 220V AC power supply and dry burn in air. After the surface turns red, disconnect the power. Once the heating tube has completely cooled, wipe it with a napkin. If there is no black oxide powder (unreacted with oxygen in the air) on the white paper, the heating tube is of high quality.
IV. Origin of Single-End Heating Tube
(Single-head) or (Cartridge) heating tubes (Cartridge Heaters). In the Chinese electric heating industry, there is a long-standing model designation: M3. In the late 1990s, due to the widespread application of heating tubes in China, many shapes emerged. In southern China, the heating tube with one end leading out for molds was vividly called a single-head heating tube. Abroad, it is called a cartridge heater, also a vivid name because the cartridge shell is cylindrical with one end sealed, which is similar to the Chinese term single-head heating tube.
V. Performance Requirements for Single-End Heating Tubes
1 Heating time: Under test voltage, the time for the element to rise from ambient temperature to test temperature should not exceed 15 minutes.
2 Rated power deviation: Under full heating conditions, the deviation of the rated power of the element should not exceed the specified range.
3 Insulation resistance: At factory inspection, the cold insulation resistance should not be less than 50MΩ.
4 Insulation withstand voltage: The element should be maintained under specified test conditions and test voltage for 1 minute without flashover or breakdown.
