Precautions for Using Stainless Steel Distribution Boxes
Distribution box is a low-voltage distribution box that assembles switchgear, measuring instruments, protective appliances, and auxiliary equipment in a closed or semi-closed metal cabinet or panel according to electrical wiring requirements. Under normal operation, the circuit can be connected or disconnected manually or automatically. In case of fault or abnormal operation, the circuit is cut off or an alarm is triggered by protective appliances. Various parameters during operation can be displayed through measuring instruments, and some electrical parameters can be adjusted, with prompts or signals for deviations from normal working conditions.
Precautions
(1) The construction power distribution system should be equipped with a main distribution box, sub-distribution boxes, and switch boxes, set up in the order of "main-sub-switch" to form a "three-level distribution" mode.
(2) The installation positions of distribution boxes and switch boxes in the construction power distribution system should be reasonable. The main distribution box should be placed as close as possible to the transformer or external power source for easy power introduction. Sub-distribution boxes should be installed in the central area where electrical equipment or loads are relatively concentrated to ensure three-phase load balance. The installation position of switch boxes should be as close as possible to the electrical equipment they control, depending on site conditions and working conditions.
(3) Ensure three-phase load balance in the temporary power distribution system. Power and lighting loads on the construction site should form two separate circuits, and power distribution boxes should be set separately from lighting distribution boxes.
(4) All electrical equipment on the construction site must have its own dedicated switch box.
(5) The enclosure and internal settings of distribution boxes at all levels must comply with safety regulations. Switch appliances should be marked with their purpose, and the enclosures should be uniformly numbered. Distribution boxes not in use should be disconnected from power and locked. Fixed distribution boxes should be provided with barriers and measures against rain and impact.
(6) Difference between distribution box and distribution cabinet. According to GB/T20641-2006 "General Requirements for Empty Enclosures of Low-Voltage Switchgear and Controlgear"
Stainless steel distribution box is generally used for household purposes, while distribution cabinets are mostly used in centralized power supply, such as industrial and construction power. Both distribution boxes and distribution cabinets belong to complete sets of equipment. Distribution boxes are low-voltage complete sets, while distribution cabinets can be high-voltage or low-voltage.
