Reasonable Setting of Design Temperature for Tube Sheet of Air Electric Heater

Based on the structure of the air electric heater, the operating conditions of an air electric heater and the temperature of the tube sheet are analyzed. It is proposed that due to the different metal temperatures of various parts of the electric heater shell under working conditions, the design temperatures of the tube sheet and the shell can be set separately. The tube sheet is in a low-temperature area, so the set design temperature of the tube sheet should be lower than that of the shell. Calculating the tube sheet thickness according to the design temperature of the tube sheet, compared with the tube sheet thickness calculated according to the design temperature of the shell, the design thickness of the tube sheet is significantly reduced, which is beneficial to reducing manufacturing costs.

In chemical production or other industrial projects, when it is necessary to heat gas materials to a relatively high temperature, ordinary heating media (such as steam, heat transfer oil, etc.) cannot achieve this, so electric heating is usually adopted. Using electric heating, the gas can be heated to above 400°C, or even up to 900°C.

The air electric heater for heating air is usually tubular. The tubular electric heating elements are evenly arranged on the tube sheet. The outer ends of the heating elements extend into the wiring chamber, and the electrodes on each heating element are grouped and connected by wires to the power control cabinet. The heating ends of the electric heating elements are inside the electric heater shell. After being energized, they generate heat to heat the gas outside the tubes.
